Datatune streamlines Extranet / QuickBooks integration with Release 8, providing greater back-office Automation for Small Businesses

Seattle, WA (June 17, 2006) - The developers of the Datatune Extranet have announced tighter integration with QuickBooks allowing customer balance data to be imported into the Extranet for inclusion in invoices. This integration allows Extranet invoices to reflect credits and past-due balances which have traditionally existed only in QuickBooks.

Providing credit information in customer invoices simplifies the management of deposits and prepayments and have traditionally been cumbersome for small businesses to manage. The awkwardness of managing these payments often requires information to be managed in multiple systems where the margin for error grows exponentially with each non-integrated process. These inefficiencies also lead to a drain on resources which could otherwise be assigned to more revenue-affecting tasks.

Likewise, the inclusion of past-due balances are often not reflected in small business invoices and are typically managed as a separate customer mailing or communications effort. In addition to providing a more efficient workflow, the simplicity of automatically including past due balances in invoices improves cash-flow for small businesses because growing customer balances are reflected in each invoice and automatically presented as the total amount due.

Also included in this release is a complete import/export function which allows customers to import or extract data from their Extranet at any time. One of the greatest risks to using web-based software and Software as a Service (SaaS) is the placement of critical data in the hands of a third party. The Internet is littered with horror stories of customers who came to rely on an online software provider only to loose access to their data when the vendor goes out of business, suffers a catastrophic system failure or enters a billing dispute.

Having the ability to backup and export critical business data at any time is a paramount consideration when choosing an online software provider and the ability to do so within the Datatune Extranet illustrates Datatune's commitment to the portability and accessibility of customer data.

Because the Datatune Extranet is a hosted application, all upgrades are automatically deployed to existing customers and are available at no extra charge to Extranet subscribers.
